This residency focuses on developing and refining this work: a performance set in a world where not just the word war, but every word beginning with W has been erased. In this fictional, slightly absurd reality, what can no longer be spoken begins to leak through the body.
The project uses choreographic fragmentation, poetic logic, and dark humor to reflect on how institutions, societies, and individuals deal with trauma through omission. How memory is not only rewritten, but sanitized. And how the body, in its stuttering, twitching persistence, becomes the last archive of what cannot be said.
In Paris, I will deepen the choreographic structure, test performative strategies that replace text with physical action, and work on the dramaturgy of silence, sound, and distortion. This phase of the process will also explore how cultural and linguistic taboos manifest in the body - and how abstraction can make space for political clarity. A few collaborators will be working with me on the project. For the first time in my stage performance I`m going to work with clay as it become the very important part of my artistic identity and creative practice (more on this on my ceramic website)
The work is not about war directly. It’s about what happens when we edit it out. It’s about the absurd violence of euphemism, and the quiet resistance of refusing to forget.
